Capacity Building Training for Mongolian Experts in Eco-Labeling

Capacity Building Training for Mongolian Experts in Eco-labeling was jointly organized by the UNESCAP Subregional Office for East and North-East Asia (SRO-ENEA), Ministry of Nature, Environment and Tourism (MONET), and Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI) on 1-3 May in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

The training programme on 1-2 May provided a platform for more than 35 experts from China, Japan, Mongolia, Republic of Korea, and Russian Federation to (1) raise awareness of Mongolian officials and experts on the overall framework of eco-labeling programme in China, Japan, Republic of Korea, and Russian Federation, (2) review eco-labeling initiatives in Mongolia, and (3) identify potential areas of collaboration on eco-labeling programme.

In addition to a two-day subregional workshop, a special consultation workshop between Republic of Korea and Mongolia was held on 3 May 2012 to develop potential areas of bilateral cooperation on eco-labeling programme.
