Suwon Conference on Low Carbon, Green Cities in North-East Asia was jointly organized by the UNESCAP Subregional Office for East and North-East Asia (SRO-ENEA) - the NEASPEC Secretariat, and Suwon City on 17-18 October in Suwon, Republic of Korea.

The conference was attended by high profile senior figures of Suwon City and more than 150 participants including 18 international experts and city officials from China, Japan, Mongolia and the Russian Federation. The conference was convened to (1) discuss the technical measures and policy instruments and strategies for developing low carbon, green cities in North-East Asia; (2) review the existing and planned initiatives for low carbon city development and identify good practices in North-East Asia; and (3) build a partnership among North-East Asian cities for developing and implementing eco-efficiency approach at the local level.
